A trailer towing safety checklist

1. Hitch: Check that the hitch is securely attached to the vehicle and the trailer. Make sure the pins and locks are in place.

4. Brakes: If the trailer is equipped with brakes, make sure they are in good working condition and properly adjusted.

5. Loading: Ensure that the load is properly secured and evenly distributed. The weight of the load should not exceed the capacity of the trailer or the towing vehicle.

6. Safety chains: Attach the safety chains and cross them under the tongue of the trailer. This provides an extra measure of security in case the hitch comes loose.

7. Electrical connection: Check the electrical connection between the vehicle and the trailer to make sure the lights and brakes are working properly.

8. Hitch ball height: Check the height of the hitch ball and make sure it is the correct size for the trailer.
